Westfield School
The project at Westfield School for girls was a CIP funded new science block for secondary school and sixth form students.
Project Overview
The project at Westfield School for girls was a CIP funded new science block for secondary school and sixth form students. The school needed to relocate the junior students from temporary buildings to their current science rooms. The project was split into 4 phases due to the site being live throughout the works. We carried out extensive value engineering and the design we undertook had to consider the live school environment and bring the best value for the budget of £1.7 million.
The project included carrying out the demolition of temporary teaching buildings and the ‘potting shed’ (Stone & Slate out building) to form part of two new single storey teaching blocks with fully fitted science blocks and landscaped areas. Other major work included is the renovation to the existing classrooms and the surrounding landscape.
