Redhills Durham Miners Hall

We have been commissioned to provide civil, structural and conservation engineering services for the restoration of the Miners’ Hall and Pitman’s Parliament.

Project Overview

We have been commissioned to provide civil, structural and conservation engineering services for the restoration of the Miners’ Hall and Pitman’s Parliament including two new build sympathetic extensions to the rear providing the flexibility of space to be used as modern and complementary conferencing, practice and performance capability. The grade II listed building holds the heritage of the descendants of over two million people. These are people who have worked in the world’s biggest deep mine coalfield for over two centuries. Redhills and its ‘Pitman’s Parliament’ is the most outstanding example of trade union architecture in Europe and one of Historic England’s 100 irreplaceable places.
